GIPTV Player Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
GIPTV Player ("the app") is a player for your own IPTV playlists (M3U / Xtream) and programme guides (EPG). The app does not provide or sell any video content; it only plays sources you add. It is made by Guclusoft.
In short
- The app does not collect any personal data that identifies you, and does not send, sell or share it.
- There is no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software in the app.
- No account is required.
What stays on your device
The following is stored only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app:
- The playlist addresses you add and, if any, your playlist username and password.
- Programme guide data, favourites, watch history and where you left off, reminders, recordings and settings.
- Optional service keys you enter (for example OMDb, API-Football).
You can delete these inside the app (Settings › Playlists and the relevant sections) or clear the app's data in Android settings. If you create a backup file, it is saved only where you choose.
Where the app connects to the internet
To provide its features the app connects directly from your device to the services below. These requests do not pass through us. These services may see technical data such as your IP address, under their own policies.
- Channels and guide: the playlist and EPG addresses you add, and optional built-in EPG sources (for example epgshare01, iptv-epg.org, open-epg, epg.pw).
- Free-to-air public channels (optional): iptv-org (GitHub).
- Film and series information, cast photos: Cinemeta, TVmaze, Wikipedia / Wikidata and, if you add a key, OMDb.
- Sports scores, fixtures and broadcast information: ESPN, FotMob, LiveSoccerTV, Spor Ekranı, OpenLigaDB, EuroLeague, Jolpica (F1), TheSportsDB and, if you add a key, API-Football.
- Text translation (programme descriptions): Google Translate, MyMemory.
- Remote management (only if you enable it): the ntfy.sh relay server. Messages are end-to-end encrypted; the relay cannot read their content.
What is sent to these services is limited to what each request needs (for example a film title, a match id or text to translate). Your personal information is not added to these requests.
Local network
Syncing with devices on the same network, casting to the screen (DLNA) and managing from a browser work only on your home network, and connect only when you use them.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: to download streams and information.
- Notifications: for programme reminders and goal alerts (optional).
- Run at startup: so reminders and scheduled recordings are set up again after the device restarts.
Children
The app is not directed at children. Parental control can lock categories behind a PIN.
